Privacy Policy

SpragStudy is an independent study tool operated as a sole trader based in Ireland. We can be contacted at hello@spragstudy.com.

When you create an account we collect:

• Your email address
• A hashed password (we never store your password in plain text)
• Your analysis history — the results generated from papers you upload
• Your token balance

We do not store the PDF files you upload. Text is extracted from your PDFs in your browser and only the extracted text is sent to our servers for analysis. Your original files never leave your device.

• To provide and operate the SpragStudy service
• To save your analysis history so you can access it across sessions
• To manage your token balance and process payments
• To send transactional emails (account confirmation, password reset)
• To improve the accuracy of our analysis — we may review anonymised, aggregated results to identify patterns

We do not sell your data. We do not use your data for advertising purposes. SpragStudy is ad-free.

SpragStudy uses the following third party services to operate:

• Supabase — database and authentication. Data is stored on servers within the EU. See supabase.com/privacy.
• OpenAI — AI analysis of extracted paper text. Text sent to OpenAI is not used to train their models by default. See openai.com/policies/privacy-policy.
• Vercel — hosting and deployment. See vercel.com/legal/privacy-policy.
• Stripe — payment processing. We do not store your card details. All payment data is handled directly by Stripe.

SpragStudy uses cookies solely for authentication purposes — to keep you logged in between sessions. We do not use tracking cookies, advertising cookies, or analytics cookies. No third party tracking scripts are loaded on any page.

As a user based in Ireland or the EU, you have the right to access, rectify, erase, or export your personal data, and to object to its processing. To exercise any of these rights, email hello@spragstudy.com. We will respond within 30 days.

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, all personal data is removed within 30 days. Anonymised, aggregated analysis data may be retained indefinitely for service improvement.

We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify registered users of material changes by email. The date at the top of this page reflects the most recent update.
